Writing code that spits out something looking like writing, though it is without meaning. How does it work? I have been playing around with processing and the plotter Makelangelo. In trying to understand how simple rules can create complex patterns, I stumbled on the gallifreyan alphabet. It made me think about written language and how you can take apart letters into smaller parts. You do that what Kanji as you are learning them, too! The so called "radicals". But if written language has this modular nature of radicals, coding something that works with this idea might create something looking like language!
So I made up my own radicals and wrote a software that randomly chooses between them. Below an output from that code - note the sliders: They can adjust many of the controlling parameters! Comments are closed.
